Notice how the two darker wolves are looking away while the lighter-colored wolf isn’t afraid to make eye contact. This shows that the dark wolves are beta wolves in the pack (or subordinates). It’s clear that the light wolf is the alpha or the other two would be staring straight at it. The eye contact is a way of challenging another wolf. This is why people or children can get bitten in the face… They stare right into the wolf’s eyes.
